Cozy little spot nestled in a beautiful part of town with well-kept old houses and warehouses, and the canal nearby. Outside and in, it is a nice mix of clean, modern lines and the old rustic brick and pictures from days gone by.
That sets a backdrop for getting simple proper fish and chips (or chips, peas 'n gravy like my mate got) - eat in or carry out. The chips are right and the fish is superb - flaky, crispy, great batter!
All this made for a nice spot it's like to come back to. -

We asked for a good fish and chips place, this was suggested and it didn't disappoint. Carryout or ample seating upstairs.

First time visiting since it was refurbished earlier this year. Its a much nicer looking, modern place with the glass front. I didn't eat in but I have seen the photos of the seating which looks nice.
I had fish and chips and a portion of curry. The fish and chips were £4.90 which is little on the expensive side. Comparing this to another couple chippys in the city centre which are about £4-£4.40 - although they may have gone up in price since I last went.
Not sure if Fish Hut have any offers on - didn't see anything obvious. The curry was £1 sounds a lot but it was a large portion.
As for the actual taste of the food, the fish and chips were OK. Nothing special. The curry was a bit too sweet. -

Really good fish and chips right next door to Cask on Liverpool St.....Cask allow you to eat your chippy tea in their bar - which makes the Friday night chippy ritual all the more pleasurable. Menu is exactly as you would expect - pies, battered sausage, cod, curry sauce and mushy peas - what else do you need!
As a final note, I dont know how others feel about this, but in my opinion, the best chip is the chip that is tinged brown with a slight (only very slight!) flop. Fish Hut does have these, but when they are queued out, they maybe dont always let them cook long enough to get that nice light brown colour....shame but they are hardly the only chippy in Britain to do that! -

A family owned business since 1969, I used to work round the corner at Granada Studios ( the good ole days ) this was my local old fashioned fish and chip shop. A Friday crush I think :)
Reasonable price and fresh cod served daily, they refurbished about 2 years ago. You can now eat upstairs in the restaurant areas (very nice) chips are fat and tasty. Sausages and fish are yummy too.
The home made curry sauce and gravy is to shout about here. If your passing the definitely pop in and give this place a try. The only thing that stops me from giving in full marks is its always seems to be under staff and a bit of a wait for the food. It's totally worth it though because it's yummy
